The Ministerial Council meeting of the 2nd National Council of Hydrocarbons (NCH) held at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, between 15th - 20th November 2017.
The Meeting was under the chairmanship of the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.
The theme for the meeting was “7 big wins - Framework for realizing the potentials of hydrocarbon”. The meeting of the Council was preceded by a four day Technical Session held from 15th – 18th November, 2017 which was presided over by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan.
Also in attendance were the, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Governor of Cross Rivers State, Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Members of the National Assembly, Commissioners from the Oil Producing and exploration States, Heads of Departments and Agencies, Representatives of Security Services as well as Representatives of Whitepage International Concept Ltd., Indigenous Oil companies, Tertiary Institutions and other relevant Agencies.
One of the memorandas deliberated and adapted was the need to encourage mergers/collaboration with Indigenous oil companies to encourage local technology development and promote Public-Private-Partnerships in the sector.
